This week, while a lighter week intensity and mileage wise, sure was a craptastic one. On Monday, M. was offered a job and has decided to take it. He’s leaving for Boston in a few weeks and to say I’m not handling it well is an understatement. However, it made for some really good, useful miles.
Monday: 1.65 miles, 15:33. I went out with a couple of classmates and had a really nice time. I found a new little path to run on too, which was nice. It felt really good for my first run since the race.
Tuesday: 2.69 miles, 26:00. I really needed to let some frustration out, so I took it to the streets. The last mile or so was spent running up lots of stairs and hills because it’s what I needed to get over some things. I’ll be hitting the stairs more often – it was fun!
Thursday: 4 miles, 42:34. I hate running early in the morning. I always wake up feeling like my legs are made of lead. I ran in my old, super worn out blue shoes because they were calling my name.
Friday: 1 mile and weights. I intended to do 1 mile, weights, then another mile. However, I was at the school gym and the fire alarm went off so I was just not in the mood to keep going after sitting outside in the cold for 20 minutes…
Saturday: 3 miles at Fleet Feet. 6 people came to my run this week, which is the most so far. I stayed behind with a couple ladies who were new to running, but I didn’t mind. It was a beautiful morning!
Sunday: 5.22 miles, 49:25. After M. left I was super emotional and just wanted to lay on my floor and cry. But I put my
big girl panties new skirt on. I used this run as my contribution to the Skirt Sports 261 Virtual Run, however I didn’t wear my bib because I never received it. The mail up here stinks, so I’m sure it’ll come eventually…
Weekly miles: 17.56
Now that today’s run is over, I’m really looking forward to the Plattsburgh Half this weekend. I went out upset and thinking the run was going to be crap, but it was perfect. I worked hard and felt good. While I may not keep a 9:25 pace next weekend, I sure hope to be close to that to move towards my 2015 goal of hitting 2:00!
