I feel like I haven’t done one of these posts in forever! Accepting that I’m a little injured, I’ve decided that instead of just stopping (like I normally would) that I’m simply doing what I can. I’m enjoying staying active while trying to maintain what fitness I can.
Monday – Spinning and weights (hip abductor/adductor, arms, squats).
Tuesday & Wednesday – OFF. I planned to run Tuesday, but then I saw this on the radar and I definitely wasn’t going out. But it’s cool, I used the extra awake time to study for my Neuro quiz (nailed it – 108%).
Thursday – 2 miles. I felt really good for the first mile and it it in just over 9:00. Around mile 1.25 my leg started hurting so I took it easy the rest of the way home, making sure to walk the one downhill I came across.
Friday – 2 miles on the treadmill. I needed the extra time in the morning to cram for my exam, so I ran when I got home to NH. I did 5:2 intervals to see if my leg would last longer without starting to hurt. Finds out, the intervals didn’t help. But hey, I got to test out my new tutu.
Saturday – 3.1 miles – the Color Run! Honestly, it didn’t feel like 3.1 miles to me but my mom’s phone said that’s what it measured. I’ll share more about it tomorrow – but I while my knee was killing me I pushed through to run most of it.
Sunday – I’ll be heading to the gym in town for a bit. I plan to do at least half an hour on the elliptical and to do some weights!
Despite the frustrations with my leg, this week felt pretty good. When I ran I was keeping a stong (for me) pace. I can’t wait until November so hopefully I can get in to see a PT because KT tape, foam rolling, ice, and ibuprofen only works so well.
Did you do a race this weekend?
What was your best workout of the week?
